SERVE Team: Scott Mission Food Distribution (Thursday)

As a member of the Scott Mission Food Distribution SERVE Team you will have the opportunity to provide care to those dealing with food insecurity and bring hope to those who are struggling. The plan is to create a food distribution location in the lower main lobby of our church building each Thursday, providing food and additional items upon request form clients.

We have a number of different roles within the team, see below with schedule for how a distribution works:

Food pickup at Scott Mission and delivery to Bayview Glen by 9:30AM
Setup 9:30-11:30AM
Open for Distribution, 12:00 Noon to 1:00PM (approximately)

Food Pickup

You are able to drive to Scott Mission's distribution centre, pickup the food and clothing, and bring it to Bayview Glen by 9:30AM. This will require a minivan, large SUV or van/truck.

Setup Team

Receive food and clothing delivery at Bayview Glen, ensure items are properly handled, and help setup the distribution site. Time commitment is from 9:30AM to 11:30PM

Host Team

Welcome our guests, help them navigate the distribution areas, help with doors or food/clothing to their car or bus stop, and monitor traffic flow. Time commitment is from 11:30AM to 1:00PM

Distribution Team

Refill bins of food items at various stations, suggest items, and explain any unfamiliar items. Assist with larger bulk items. Individuals should be physically able. Time commitment is from 11:30 to 1:00
